Gold Standard spin-off SustainCERT secures $10 million in series A capital

We are pleased to announce that SustainCERT, which Gold Standard launched in 2018, has successfully closed a series A round of investment of $10 million from impact investment fund Citizen Capital, venture capital firm Innovacom and the Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund.

Having been the founder and major shareholder, Gold Standard is delighted that the mission-driven organisation it incubated has secured this investment that allows it to expand its efforts to create a 'race to the top' for credible impact certification.

SustainCERT remains an official certification provider for Gold Standard and is committed to delivering rigorous assurance for Gold Standard certified climate and development impacts and excellent service to Gold Standard project developers. We also continue to collaborate closely on the Value Change initiative, working together with other civil society and corporate partners to ‘make net zero value chains possible.’

“As Gold Standard maintains its focus on ensuring integrity and impact in a growing range of climate and development solutions, we need parallel innovation and enhancements in the assurance process to remove barriers and enable faster scaling of impact,” comments Gold Standard President Yvo de Boer. “We are optimistic that with this catalytic investment, SustainCERT can make high ambition more achievable.

We hope you join us in congratulating the SustainCERT team for this important milestone!
