To help address the problem of N2O emissions in the land-based agriculture Gold Standard intends to develop a methodology for reduced/avoided nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from the management of Nitrogen-based fertilisers in agricultural activities. The proposed scope of methodology includes the following activities:
- Application of Enhanced Efficiency Fertiliser (“EEF”) such as nitrification inhibitor, urease inhibitor
- Application of slow release fertilisers
- Reduction in use and loss of nitrogen fertilisers
- Optimised nitrogen fertiliser management
- Best practice approaches for reduced use of nitrogen fertiliser

JOIN CONSORTIUM TO CO-DEVELOP THIS METHODOLOGY
We would like to invite expressions of interest from stakeholders who wish to co-develop this methodology. Gold Standard will assemble a consortium of interested parties to contribute to and co-fund the methodology development and appoint an experienced consulting firm to develop the methodology.

Gold Standard also invites expressions of interest from consulting firms available to develop this methodology in collaboration with Gold Standard Secretariat and consortium partners.
