Overview and purpose of the assignment

Building on Gold Standard’s “Fairly contributing to global Net Zero - Framework for organisational climate mitigation strategies” (henceforth Climate Framework) initially published in 2023, and updated in 2024, Gold Standard will be publishing a complementary Nature Framework outlining how organisations can take responsibility for their historical, present, and future impacts on nature and to become positive contributors to global nature goals.  

The appointed party will review and refine both the new Nature Framework and an updated version of the Climate Framework to enhance clarity, readability and consistency ensuring alignment in tone and structure across both documents.  

These document are designed to provide actionable guidance for organisations, civil society and other stakeholders. They serve as a cohesive set of principles and criteria, offering a reliable framework for organisations to tackle their climate and nature-based footprint.  

 

 

The primary tasks of the consultant will be as follows:  

1. Provide Editorial Guidelines (One Pager) 

a. Establish a concise editorial framework to ensure consistent tone, clarity, and accessibility across the Climate and Nature Frameworks. 

b. Outline key principles for structuring content and maintaining coherence across supporting materials.  

2. Editorial Review of Climate and Nature Frameworks 

a. Provide an editorial review of both the new Nature Framework and the updated Climate Framework. 

b. Improve clarity, structure, and readability while ensuring alignment in tone and messaging.  

c. Suggest appropriate graphics to be developed to aid understanding of key concepts 

d. Deliver feedback ahead of key publication milestones: 

- Nature Framework – early June 2025 

- Updated Climate Framework – late June 2025 

3. Recommendations for supporting documents 

a. Identify key supplementary materials or reference documents that could enhance understanding and usability of the frameworks for different audiences. 

b. Suggest content ideas for blogs that break down key themes from the Climate and Nature Frameworks 

c. Provide suggestions for summary materials (e.g. executive summaries, FAQs, visual explainers)
