Emissions reductions from landfills

This methodology is applicable to project activities that use on-site waste processing to avoid methane emissions caused by organic waste being sent to landfills. While solid waste is most often transported to centralized facilities such as landfills or large-scale composting plants, this project activity incorporates de-centralized, on-site waste processing and use, thus having the additional benefit of avoiding transportation of waste. The methodology is applicable only to micro or small-scale project activities.
