We are restructuring our standard to better enable us to meet our vision of a climate secure world where sustainable development brings life changing benefits to communities everywhere. We are looking for your thoughts, feedback and suggestions on this new standard, Gold Standard 3.0.

Gold Standard 3.0 will serve as one comprehensive and integrated standard that will enable various outcomes — from reduced greenhouse gas emissions to water benefits to improved health — to be certified through a unique standard and a single certification process. Just as critical, it will evaluate both the positive and sometimes negative impacts of a project, painting a full picture across the activity’s total landscape to maximize net-positive impacts.

How to submit your consultation

We as seeking thoughts, feedback and suggestions from the market to help further shape our new standard. We are using an interactive system called Collaborase to capture and track all comments and feedback.

We have tried to structure the consultation in a way that enables you to provide feedback to a level suitable for you.

1. General comments on the direction of our new standard

For a quick overview of the standard and what we would like to achieve, please view the video below.

2. Feedback on our new Gold Standard 3.0 Requirements

This is the core document for our new standard. It provides the eligibility criteria and certification cycle that all activities using the standard must apply. We have developed a short presentation that outlines the new elements and key differences between Gold Standard V3.0 and our existing scopes.

3. A deeper dive into our new standard

For those who would like to comment on the more specific elements of our new standard, we have developed three additional documents that provide guidance on our stakeholder engagement, safeguarding principles and a tool for assessing an activity’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
