Requirements and Procedures for Dual Certification - Premium T-Ver Consulation cover

Introduction

Gold Standard, in discussion with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), is exploring the potential for dual certification of projects under the Premium Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (Premium T-VER) and Gold Standard for the Global Goals (GS4GG). Under this model, credits issued under Premium T-VER would have the option to also comply with additional GS4GG requirements and be recognised through a Gold Standard label.

This model would follow Gold Standard’s experience providing a dual certification service for projects registered under the Clean Development Mechanism. In that case, projects undertaking dual certification were often recognised accordingly by buyers, and able to attract a higher price for credits.

Gold Standard welcomes feedback from stakeholders to refine and finalise the dual certification framework. This includes feedback on any gaps identified in the requirements, as well as the attractiveness of this option for projects registered under Premium T-VER.

The development of draft requirements for dual certification is part of Gold Standard’s "Enabling National Ownership in a High-Integrity Carbon Market" programme supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK).
