At COP28, the Government of Singapore, Gold Standard and Verra launched work to develop a protocol for the use of independent crediting programmes under Article 6.
The intention of this protocol is to establish a clear and standardised model for governments and crediting programmes to apply Article 6 requirements adopted by the CMA, in a way that enables efficiency, integrity and consistency across cooperative approaches.
This COP30 side event will launch the Article 6.2 Protocol and explore how it can be practically applied, featuring insights from governments and practitioners actively engaged in Article 6 cooperation. reflecting on the opportunities and challenges of the implementation of Article 6, with a focus on concepts featured in the Protocol.
