Across the Pacific Alliance, governments are taking steps to either strengthen or introduce new frameworks for carbon pricing and markets.
This includes domestic carbon taxes, emissions trading systems and legal bases for cooperating under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Through the Pacific Alliance’s Technical Sub-Group for Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (SGT-MRV), governments have been working together to improve MRV systems and identify areas for cooperation and knowledge exchange to strengthen the region’s climate ambition.
In this event, government officials and technical experts will explore recent developments in carbon pricing and markets and discuss the opportunities and engagement routes available for the private sector and other non-governmental actors.

Los gobiernos que pertenecen a la Alianza del Pacífico están tomando medidas para reforzar o introducir nuevos marcos para la fijación de precios y los mercados del carbono. Esto incluye impuestos nacionales sobre el carbono, sistemas de comercio de emisiones y bases jurídicas para la cooperación en virtud del artículo 6 del Acuerdo de París.
