Gold Standard has launched a new online resource for tracking the status of methodologies being developed. The webpage provides an illustration of the stages that new methodologies must follow to be adopted into Gold Standard for the Global Goals - from concept note to publication - and a list of those currently under development.

GS4GG Methodologies under DevelopmentGold Standard has launched a new resource page on the Gold Standard for the Global Goals website to provide our stakeholders visibility on  methodologies, documents and tools in our pipeline. This new page will act as a reference point to inform project developers, methodology developers and others on the status of technical documents.

The page also features a flow chart outlining the main steps of the methodology development and approval process - from submission of a concept note to publication under Gold Standard for the Global Goals – and the details of how to go about submitting a new methodology concept.

Gold Standard received a record number of 41 methodology concept note submissions in 2023, spanning new scopes of activity and technology types – an indication of voluntary carbon market growth and increased interest in project development from different sectors. We approved 4 new methodologies - including two for methane emission reductions in the agricultural sector - and consulted on over 20 technical documents. This new webpage will give increased visibility and transparency on the important methodology documents under development, helping stakeholders with planning and collaboration.
