Indonesia’s Ministry of Environment / Environmental Protection Agency (MoE/EPA) and Gold Standard have announced the organisations selected to participate in a pilot programme under their Mutual Recognition Agreement.

The announcement was made in an event attended by Gold Standard CEO Margaret Kim alongside Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, Minister of Environment and Ary Sudijanto, Deputy Minister for Climate Change and Carbon Governance at COP 30 on 11 November 2025.
The Mutual Recognition Agreement was signed between the MoE/EPA and Gold Standard in May 2025. It was followed in October by the publication of guidance for project developers, outlining the steps needed to certify projects in Indonesia under the MRA.
At the same time, MoE/EPA and Gold Standard launched a pilot programme to apply and monitor the new guidance.
Today, MoE/EPA and Gold Standard have announced that the following organisations will participate in the pilot programme:
- Ecosecurities
- Fairatmos
- Kosher Climate India Private Limited
- PT. Biru Karbon Nusantara
- Rize PTE
- South Pole
- Star Energy Geothermal
- Value Network Ventures Pte. Ltd (VNV)
All organisations included in the pilot programme are implementing either planned or existing projects under Gold Standard across several sectors (including energy, agriculture and forstry), which are collectively estimated to generate over 800,000 tCO2e per year of potential greenhouse gas reductions or removals.
Under the pilot programme, MoE/EPA and Gold Standard will work closely with pilot participants the coming months to ensure the guidance in place provides a strong and practical foundation for future activities. Participants will provide feedback and recommendations that could inform clarifications of, or future improvements to the guidance.
