Climate Responsibility Framework v.4.0 - Discussion paper on supporting organisations to establish and take responsibility for their climate impacts

The Climate Responsibility Framework v.4.0 offers, science-based and practical framing for companies and institutions aligning their climate strategies with the global net-zero transition.

Climate Responsibilty Framework v.4.0

Intended for companies, institutions, and their stakeholders, and those that scrutinise climate practices, this framework provides a consolidated series of strategic principles and activities that complement the work of leading global organisations such as the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP). By establishing a shared reference point, the framework equips organisations to move beyond mere compliance and become positive, fair contributors to global climate goals.

To ensure practical implementation, the framework is designed for use alongside Gold Standard’s Journey to Climate Leadership 4-Phase Approach. This supplemental guide and practical tool for companies offers an approach to self-assess their progress on the journey to net zero, helping them understand where they currently stand and where they might go next.

These documents are updated annually, providing organisations with a practical approach to set and check their direction in reducing emissions and adapting to the physical impacts of climate change.

We welcome any feedback and input on how to expand or improve the framework in the future.
