Gold Standard Project Spotlights

The real impact behind the numbers

Every Gold Standard project makes verified contributions towards a minimum of 3 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), always including SDG 13 (climate action) and two others, with many projects going beyond the minimum.

Since 2003 Gold Standard projects have created over 8,000 verified contributions, all while reducing/removing over 400 million tonnes of CO2EQ.

But what does this mean in reality?

It means supporting communities in low and middle income countries - those that often feel the negative effects of climate change while having done very little to cause it.

For people it means better health and well-being, access to clean water and sanitation, improved gender equality, and affordable clean energy for in local communities. It means the opportunity for economic growth and decent working conditions - the hope for a sustainable future for all.

For nature it means protecting life on land and in sea, reducing forest degradation, reviving mangroves, increasing soil quality and so much more.

The Gold Standard Project Spotlights bring the numbers to life by telling the inspiring stories of the local community members and project developers - those who are making sustainable development a reality.
